How can we forgive and genuinely love those with the audacity to stoop so low and be so persistent in it with no shame? I’m trying to have compassion for them because it’s said that our enemy isn’t flesh and blood, but don’t humans have a will of their own too?
How do we forgive and genuinely love the countless amounts of people who actively seek our destruction and laugh at our suffering?

When we forgive someone, it isn’t just for their sake, it is also for ours. Forgiveness allows the hatred to leave our hearts, and will give us the capacity to love again.
The word forgive in the bible comes from the Greek word: aphiemi, which means “to send forth” or “send away.”
Pray to God that he send the hatred away from your heart, and heals you. Then you can move on with your life.
Proverbs 25:21-22 KJV
If thine enemy be hungry, give him bread to eat; And if he be thirsty, give him water to drink: For thou shalt heap coals of fire upon his head, And the LORD shall reward thee.
Mark 11:25
“And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.”
Matthew 6:12
“And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.”
Luke 11:4
“And forgive us our sins; for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil.”
1 John 4:20
“If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?”
Colossians 3:13
“Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.”
Matthew 18:21-22 KJV
Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times? Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven.
Luke 17:3-4 KJV
Take heed to yourselves: If thy brother trespass against thee, rebuke him; and if he repent, forgive him. And if he trespass against thee seven times in a day, and seven times in a day turn again to thee, saying, I repent; thou shalt forgive him.
Ephesians 4:32
“And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.”
Well we do so because the word of God says so. More specifically we forgive and show love to our enemy and those who try to work against us because it is what Jesus Christ himself did when he walked this earth. The lord wouldn’t ask us to do something he himself wouldn’t do. Yes it’s not easy and it takes a lot of mental and spiritual growth to do all this over time.
I believe with the holy spirit that lives in us; it becomes easier each day to do. God wouldn’t call us to do something without equipping us with what we need to do the task(s). So that’s how I see all of this.
They do have a will of their own, and that’s how they’re choosing to use it because they are under a lie… have you ever watched someone drink poison they thought was a cure? How can you have anything but pity, knowing what they don’t?
Put yourself in Jesus’s shoes. How did he look at these people?
He didn’t just tolerate them. He didn’t just understand and have compassion for the lost. He died for them and told us all to follow his example.
There is a very important reason why. What do you think it might be? Genuinely curious.
